Austin, Texas is home to many household names, including Matthew McConaughey and Sandra Bullock. Much like those double-decker celebrity home tours in Los Angeles, we’ve put together a mini virtual tour of Austin’s most famous residents’ homes!
Matthew McConaughey’s Lakeside Mansion
Alright, alright, alright, y’all. First on our “tour” is the gorgeous Spanish-style home of one of Texas’ favorite sons, actor and Longhorn alumnus Matthew McConaughey. Just south of Pennybacker Bridge along the Colorado River sits this star’s beautiful residence:
Sandra Bullock’s Home on the Creek
It’s no surprise that “America’s Sweetheart” has made a home for herself here in Austin, especially when that home is on breathtaking Barton Creek. Bullock actually has three homes (here in Austin, one in California, and a third in Georgia), but when she’s here in Texas, it’s all about that modern vibe on the water:
Willie Nelson’s Spicewood Ranch
Just west of Austin on Highway 71 is the suburb of Spicewood, Texas. If you travel down Bee Creek Rd, you’ll come across this country music legend’s 800-acre ranch and quaint cypress log cabin:
Homes of Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki
These on-screen brothers are off-screen Austinites. The two starred together in the iconic TV series Supernatural as the Winchester brothers, and now both call Austin home.
Ackles and his family live right on Lake Austin in a 7,500-square-foot stunner. Being on the west side of town, they aren’t too far from their popular brewery Family Business Beer Company in Dripping Springs.
Padalecki is a born and chosen Texan. Despite a successful Hollywood career, the actor continues to call Texas home. This rustic dwelling boasts 10,654 square feet, 7 bedrooms, and 10 bathrooms.
Gary Clark, Jr.’s Horse Ranch in Kyle
Grammy Award-winning blues musician and Austin native Gary Clark, Jr. has owned a 50-acre horse ranch in Kyle for nearly 4 years. Sold to him at $1.6 million, the property boasts a 5,218-square-foot home with 4 bedrooms and 6 baths as well as a 14-stall horse barn with its own bathroom and bedroom.
