Ironman 70.3 Austin
Various Locations
Austinites are known for being active and athletic, so it’s no surprise that the city hosts one of the most insane and grueling races of all time – an Ironman Triathlon. The race starts with a 1.2 mile swim in Decker Lake in the Walter E. Long Park. After the swim comes the 56 mile bike ride through the rolling hills and farmland of Central Texas. The half marathon running portion of the race is extra special because it starts and finishes in the Luedecke Arena, making Austin’s Ironman the only one on the 70.3 circuit to have an indoor finish! Just writing about it makes me tired! Even if you aren’t quite ready for your Ironman debut, it’s always fun to get out there and cheer on the incredible athletes as they race for the finish!
