Blog > 2017 Spring Break Guide
Spring break is finally here. We’re all super excited about the time off, but what are we going to do with it? Here is a non-comprehensive list of the best ways to enjoy Spring Break in Austin.
1. SXSW
Obviously, we had to mention SXSW. It is most famous for its music festival, but they also showcase film, comedy, and interactive technology. The film festival portion is a series of screenings that happen all around town, you can get the schedule here. The complete schedule for the epic Interactive festival has yet to be announced, but the Opening Party is March 10. The robust SXSW comedy showcase is occurring March 10-18 and is open to all interactive, film, and music festival attendees. And of course, there’s the music. Catch the biggest, smallest, and best acts all around Austin. Full list of venues and performances have been set. Get your badge! Or, get a “Guest Pass” and be notified of free events going on all week!
2. Price Is Right Live
Do you love the Price is Right? Then go see it at the HEB center live March 9. Whether you’re a new fan or a lifelong loyalist, this game show is a lot of fun. Tickets are still available for a great price. This spring break you may “come on down” win your very own showcase.
3. Rodeo Austin
Rodeo Austin is March 11-25, featuring a fair, special events, live music and all the best rodeo games. Rodeo mainstay performers Kevin Fowler, Cody Johnson, and Josh Turner plus many others will perform. Also, catch Fitz and the Tantrums and Elle king, too. Look at the full line-up here, both rodeo events and live performers.
4. Cirque du Soleil: OVO
Cirque du Soleil is bringing its newest show, OVO to the H-E-B Center March 15-19. “OVO,” deriving from egg, is a magical tale that starts from the delivery of a mysterious egg. 50 insanely talented acrobats will dazzle you with their portrayals of life in this stunning show.
Obviously, there is WAY more to do this spring break in the best city in the world. Keep an eye out for more fun, free events. Or, just enjoy the beautiful hill country and warm weather.
