Blog > Best Indoor Plants & DIY Plant Hanger

This post is all about plants. Indoor plants are more popular than ever before, but sometimes it can be hard to choose which plant to get. We’ve put together a guide to help you choose which indoor plant suits you best.
We also threw in a DIY boho plant hanger tutorial, to help you take your indoor foliage game up a notch.
BEST PLANTS FOR LOW LIGHTING
- Snake Plant (a.k.a. Mother-in-law’s Tongue)
Snake plants are some of the most resilient plants out there. They can be neglected for weeks on end, and still look great. In addition, since they tolerate low light, they can live just about anywhere in your home.

- Ivy
While ivy requires a bit more maintenance than the snake plant, they don’t need a steady stream of light to thrive.

BEST LOW-MAINTENANCE PLANTS
- Air Plants
These plants don’t even need soil to thrive. Every 10-14 days, soak them in water for a couple hours to keep them happy, but otherwise, set them out and let them be.

- Aloe
Aloe is a type of succulent, which means it doesn’t need a great deal of watering. It does love direct sunlight, so just set the pot near a window. The best part of this succulent is its healing properties. The leaves are full of a juicy, gummy substance that has anti-bacterial and other medicinal properties. Apply it to cuts and burns as needed for natural healing.

BEST HANGING PLANTS
- Spider plant
This plant, with all its offshoots, is pretty funky, which is why we chose it as one of the best. It’s one of the easiest plants to take care of and will add so much life and character to a room
- String of pearls
This plant is so fun! The leaves literally look like green pearls or peas, and they can grow out to be 2-3 feet long, which is why we hail them as one of the best plants to hang up. Imagine that string of pearls cascading down from the ceiling!

Speaking of hanging, here’s that tutorial we mentioned:
