Planning the Best Spring Break in Cedar Park for the Family

It’s the last full week of February and that means Spring Break is right around the corner!

We wanted to get you geared up to plan the best Spring Break here in Cedar Park for your family, so here’s a list of things to do to make the most of that beloved week off:

GET OUTSIDE

If the weather is good to you the week of your Spring Break, take the opportunity to get yourself and the kids some sun and fresh air. For a relaxed day at the park, head to Brushy Creek Lake Park , Cedar Park Sculpture Park, Cedar Bark Park (if you have a four-legged friend), or Veteran’s Memorial Park.

We’d be remiss not to mention the aquatic gem of the Austin area: Lake Travis. The closest access points to Cedar Park/Leander include Bob Wentz at Windy Point, Sandy Creek, Cypress Creek, Hippie Hollow, and Tom Hughes Park. They all require a fee, but the views are worth it!

HEAD TO CAMP

If your kids are the restless kind (let’s be real, aren’t they all when they’re young?) then maybe a fun camp is the answer! Cedar Park has many day camps and activities your kids can take part in.

One of them is the Cordovan Spring Break Art Camp, where kiddos ages 5-12 will learn various sketching and painting techniques, bringing home two pieces of art per day.

High Point Fellowship also offers a Spring Break Camp called High Hopes Sports & After School Holiday Camp. They offer sports, group games, crafts, and more to keep your child active and engaged throughout the week.

WINERIES & BREWERIES

Let’s do the math: if the kids are at camp all day, and you adults in charge are working from home, how can you relish a day of no kiddos?

You go un-“wine”-d. Get it?!

If you have the chance to have a spring break of your own, there are plenty of places in Cedar Park and Leander to have a relaxing day enjoying Texas’ best wines and ales.

The Bent Oak Winery is a Cedar Park favorite, with over 100 5-star reviews. If you don’t mind the short drive, sample wines at Thirsty Mule Winery, an award-winning spot in Liberty Hill.

If wine isn’t your beverage of choice, not to worry. There are plenty of places to try a cold ale or a robust stout, including Red Horn Coffee House and Brewing Company, Whitestone Brewery, and Hedgehog Brewing.
